Having two young grandchildren I thought crafting something to assist them with learning their times tables.
First off I designed and built a sample to get feedback from their mum and dad and as they are young to see if I could make it durable for use as an educational toy and learning aid.
First Version
The fist version turned out okay and an additional name plate was added for personalisation of the times table for each of them.
Watching them play and manovoure the slider it became apparent that the slider needed to be slightly larger on the end to enable them to move it easier and also instead of an infill wedge between the front and back of the slider, a better solution was needed.
Second Version
The second version has a slightly improved slider in terms of stability and movement which is easier moved by small hands and with less skewing movement.
To put it through its paces a couple of personalised copies have been made for friends and family who expressed interest in the product.
